Poemy Monday but on a Tuesday, The Second

Yesterday’s Poemy Monday was put on hold for a slice that helped our shattered piggy hearts. So a day late, but here we are.

Tap Out

I’d like to tap out.

From the pokes,
the prods.

I’d like to tap out.

From the tests,
the results.

I’d like to tap out.

From the vials,
the counts.

I’d like to tap out.

From feeling like
a science experiment.

When all we wanted was
what should be natural.

I’d like to tap out,
and enjoy what is.

  1. I’m not sure what you’re going through, but the line “When all we wanted was what should be natural” reminded me of a time in my life many years ago when I wanted to “tap out.” I’m glad I didn’t, though, because I wouldn’t have my two boys. Whatever you’re going through, I wish you peace whether you decide to continue or tap out.

  2. I was expecting something happy when I logged on, but when I saw this it made my heart hurt. I think you have conveyed your feeling beautifully in the poem, and I know you are going through a lot. Hoping that things look up for you soon, my friend. PS Did I mention that I miss you?
